The organisation “Steenwiekertoornrun”
was started on 15th May 2009, with the goal to allow people with a
physical and or mental handicap to enjoy one unforgettable day.

A day full of pleasure, laughter, good food and drink,
lot’s of fun and musical groups that can play joyful songs.
The high light of the day is a tour through the most
beautiful nature areas, beautiful villages,
and along the roads next to the canals and over the dykes.
During this tour the “Steenwiekertoornrun”,
the clients go as passenger in the side car,
on the trikes and convertibles.
The charitable drivers from Holland and Germany come
to Steenwijkerland to allow the clients to enjoy a fantastic day.

The “Steenwiekertoornrun” is supported by motor enthusiasts
who have followed the course “traffic coordinator” sponsored by the police
of Steenwijkerland and have ridden the route minimal twice to
 ensure that they know this route.

A few really motivated motor cyclists whom will be wearing
a certified traffic coordinators vest, completely voluntarily,
coordinate the more than two and a half kilometre stretch
that affects other road users.

The “Steenwiekertoornrun” is made possible by the many volunteers
and the generous financial support from our sponsors and
the camping that supplies free pitches.
