If you wish to assist as a traffic
coordinator you are most welcome, but ……..
there are conditions and
regulations that have to be adhered to if you wish to
assist as a traffic coordinator during the “Steenwiekertoornrun”
The driver must be qualified and
licensed to use the vehicle in this category.
The vehicle is in a good technical state and has minimal full 3rd
party insurance.
You are obligated to follow the
legal classes “traffic coordinator”. (We can arrange for you to subscribe for
these classes, and the classes are given by the Police Steenwijkerland)
The classes are free, and period of class is 1 evening.
The classes are held in February and March.
The classes will probably be held at the Police Station in Steenwijk, the same
location as last year.
After a few weeks you will receive your traffic coordinators pass, and is valid
for 1 year.
(you can also use this pass for other events in Steenwijkerland)
You are also obligated to have
ridden the route at least twice, together with our coordinator,
before you can take part as traffic coordinator in the “run”.
To do the “run” on your own without
our coordinator does not count as we cannot control
if you are able to do the “run”.
(We have had disappointments in the past, so we have a strict control of this
procedure).
The traffic vests are
supplied by the organisation “Steenwiekertoornrun”
during the run, and are to be returned at the end of the “run”.
The organisation
“Steenwiekertoornrun” is a charitable organisation, relying on sponsors,
so we cannot fund the driver, as all is done on a charitable basis.
We ensure a pleasurable day, food, drink and at the end of a “run” a memento,
The driver supplies the vehicle, the time and the fuel.
The driver is also responsible for
any traffic fines that may occur during the “run”.
During the introduction just before
the “run” begins,
you will be asked to produce your licence for the vehicle you are driving.
If you cannot produce this certificate, you will not be permitted to join
the “run”.
It is obligatory for the
organisation “Steenwiekertoornrun” to run these checks.
For the success of these “runs”, the safety during the “runs” and parking during
breaks,
the traffic coordinators have strict control of the situation to ensure safety
for all.
(Drivers are responsible for their own risks during the “Steenwiekertoornrun”)
