Regulations
Participation of the “Steenwiekertoornrun” goes as follows:
The
vehicle is in a good technical state and has minimal full 3rd
party insurance.
The driver is qualified and licensed to use the vehicle in this
category.
The driver is not under the influence of alcohol or any such substance.
Also please note:
You
should be available at least one hour before departure.
A cup of coffee or tea is available for you.
Upon arrival please check in at the administration table.
You will receive the necessary particulars and then may park the vehicle
on the place that corresponds with the number that you get at the
administration table.
Please ensure that you are with your vehicle before departing and
stay with your vehicle and your passenger until departure.
Please ensure that you have a full tank of fuel.
Helmet is compulsory, also on the trikes.
If you
are in possession of an extra helmet please take this with if possible.
We will also ask our passengers to bring a helmet but too many helmets
is better than too few.
During the run please
follow the vehicle in front of you in the order on which you had
started.
Keep a balanced distance between you and the vehicle in front of you. Passing
is not allowed.
Please
take into consideration that you will be passed by the traffic
coordinators,
give enough distance for this manoeuvre.
Especially on some of the narrow roads encountered on the run.
Follow
during the run, and whilst parking, the instructions of the traffic
coordinators
(recognizable by there vests) or follow your predecessor.
During
the breaks please help your passenger first.
Important information during the run:
If broken down please stop
to the extreme right of the road.
Should
you have a problem and have to stop then Red Cross volunteers,
traffic coordinators and break down vehicles will come to your
assistance.
Where necessary assistance will be given by those responsible for the
type of situation.
Should you be able to continue the run after any type of incident
then the traffic coordinators will bring you to the rear of the run.
You will continue in this place and not return to your original spot.
Driving
on this run excuses no-one not to be careful and to obey all traffic
regulations.
The organisers cannot be held responsible for any mishaps from your side
or from any other road users.
Should you however, being a responsible driver, find that any instruction from us or the traffic coordinators bring a dangerous situation in the picture, it is then up to the driver to avoid accidents and if necessary ignore these instructions.
